The door, as always, was almost orgasmically pleased just to open for him. The darkness of the room beyond, however, wasn't as familiar.

"Arthur?" Ford asked tentatively, feeling silly as he took a few steps inside.

The lone figure sitting on the edge of the bed lifted his head and stared.

"There you are." Ford lightened his voice for a moment, but quieted it down when Arthur didn't seem to react. "What're you doing in here?"

Arthur stared at him. A bottle dangled from his lax fingers.

"Arthur?" Ford frowned.

Finally, in a soft voice, "I don't have anyone anymore."

I've been worried that my writing style might not be carefree enough for H2G2 writing, but then I was just like, "Ah, fuck it," and went ahead.

I'm glad you said that cause I'm really (for lack of a better word) hungry for more fanfiction from H2G2G. And so far, I likes what I sees. :)
