TITLE: Discoveries and Redemption
FANDOM: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I
DISCLAIMER: I don't own Jolee Bindo, as he was a character in KOTOR, but I do somewhat own Danil, because he was the main character, and you controlled the decisions that he could make. Yes, I made the character a male named Danil Tanstar, and I used the Caucasian template with brown hair and brown eyes. A stronger-looking version of Joxer the Mighty. It's fun. ^_^
RATING: PG, I guess?
WARNING(S): None, really. There was supposed to be some for violence, but I couldn't really remember the violent bits. It's very strange. I think there was a rock thumping down like a jackhammer, but that was about it...
PAIRING: None
WORD COUNT: 816
NOTES: This was literally a dream I had this morning. It's very strange, but it made coherent sense, so I wrote it down.
"Hello… LiAmes."
Danil stared in fascination at the small golden statue. It was the bust of a beautiful woman with an elaborate headdress, and it focused on him as she spoke.
His glowing yellow eyes blazed. How did he know that name was his? Wasn't he Revan? Hadn't he assumed that birthright, even here, in the heart of this volcano? Wasn't he ready to take the final step and head for the Temple? He knew that Jolee had joined him in the Dark Side, "falling" as he did. But was it truly falling if he wanted to make the leap?
LiAmes. It felt… right, somehow. Even as he saw Matroni draw the vibro-blade across the defenseless woman's neck, he knew that something had been terribly wrong with this picture.
He lifted a hand and smashed it against the glass separating him and the golden bust. The glass wasn't even scratched.
This piece of gold-plated magic fluff had stolen the Tri-Force, which he had rightfully stolen from that Light Apprentice, and dammit, he wanted it back.
As if sensing his thought, the eyes of the statue opened and focused on him again.
"It was not time."
The floor began to shake, a loud roaring accompanying it.
"Danil, we've gotta move and move NOW!" Jolee yelled. "This whole place is about to explode and we're going to die if we don't get out!"
Danil growled, smashing his fist futilely against the glass. "Damn you."
"In time, Apprentice, you will understand," the bust told him.
Danil stared as the bust began to… melt.
"NO!" He smashed the small window again. "Damn you, I'm Revan!"
"Silly LiAmes… Always so headstrong…" the mouth joined the rest of the head in dissolving before Danil was faced with no more than a puddle of gold that leaked out from the bottom of the window and pattered on the floor near his feet.
"Danil! NOW!"
Danil growled, firing up his lightsaber and running.
***
It was bright in that small divot, as if the small house had been carved and shaped right into the mountain. No one was outside, but the two Jedi hadn't expected there to be. Danil looked down at the scrap of paper, and climbed out of the speeder, looking up at the house before checking the paper again.
"This looks like the right place…" Danil frowned, his yellow eyes still glowing ominously despite the fact that the spots on his cheeks and neck had grown faint.
The driver's door opened and slammed shut, and Jolee was standing next to him, dressed as he was in a lighter Jedi robe due to the heat. Unlike Danil, his eyes were still human. "Small place," he harrumphed.
"This coming from a man who lived inside of a tree trunk when I found him." Danil raised an eyebrow at him.
Jolee snorted. "The tree in question was a fallen wroshyr tree, not some of these silly looking ones here." He waved at the trees in the front yard, which looked weak enough that they'd break if someone sneezed on them.
Danil smirked, because he couldn't seem to genuinely smile anymore without some sinister edge sneaking in. As a result, he never tried to fight it. "Well, let's go pay them a visit."
Just as he said that, however, the door opened, and a small figure waddled out. He was probably closer to Master Vandar's size, but cowled and robed as he was, neither Danil nor Jolee could tell what he looked like.
Familiarity returned when the small figure held up the hilt of a lightsaber and activated it, a white blade emanating from the tip.
"Oh, shit." Danil muttered. Jolee reached for his lightsaber, but Danil held out a hand, stopping him.
"Don't. We're supposed to be here to show we don't mean any harm." It seemed to take a great deal of effort for him to say that, even if his first impulse was to shoot now, shoot later, and keep shooting until nothing twitched anymore.
Jolee shot him an 'are you *nuts*' look, but refrained from drawing his lightsaber.
"Master Darion?" Danil called to the figure, who hadn't advanced or even moved since it had first appeared.
The figure didn't answer.
Danil took a step forward. "Master D--"
He quickly found himself slammed against the speeder, feeling as if a rock had slammed into him. When he opened his eyes, he found that a rock *had* slammed into him.
"Okay, *now* can we kill it?" Jolee demanded.
Danil sighed and reached for his lightsaber. "Okay, *now* we kill it."
***
And the three fought, and then Danil got ushered inside, and the little guy started trying to figure out why if Danil was trying to return to the Light, why his eyes never stopped glowing while the rest of the physical aspects of his fall to the Dark Side had begun to fade.
And then I woke up. Agh.
End of Dream.
