There's something... more about her.

Everyone can be taken in by the youthful face, the pouty lips, the large brown eyes. They can even be taken in by the enthusiasm to which she sets herself, whether it's exploring a new planet or happily working on the charges for her Nitro-Nine canisters.

But not everyone can see her vulnerabilities. Her fear of a spooky, old house that had the scent of pure, unadulterated evil; her annoyance with being termed "the latest one" by someone more than familiar with the way he worked.

The way that she shivered when she was cold, or the way she would look at him when they were in the sort of danger that didn't look like it would let up any time soon. The way she clung to him for warmth, for protection, for an explanation...

He told himself that making her face her doubts and fears would make her stronger, and that he could observe her growth firsthand.

But if she clung to him just a little harder, sneered and boasted she wasn't scared of anything just a little more firmly, grinned when she set off a new Nitro-Nine canister just a little brighter, perhaps even threw her arms around him and kissed him when they were finally free of the trouble... he wouldn't mind.

He wouldn't mind at all.

Dear God, Seven and Ace are such an OTP. Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred (the actors) are such good friends in real life, and there are Gratuitous Grabby Hand Moments throughout the Seventh Doctor's episodes, it's almost not funny.

So, yeah. I need to either burn or send you the eps, stat. :D
