"I'm sure that what you're saying is rather important, Arthur, but I *really* must dash. Off to go find Zaphod and make sure he's not been killed or missing limbs or anything like that." Ford looked around the room, absently patted the towel he'd slung around his shoulders, rearranging a few things on his small desk.

"But Ford," Arthur said quickly. "The message--it's--"

"I know perfectly well what it is, Arth--ah, there it is!" He had been looking under his bed, and he grinned. Shoving his hand underneath, he pulled it back to reveal his battered Guide. Standing up, he dusted himself off. "It's just a message, sent by someone who's full of himself, as usual. Look, I'll be perfectly fine. You needn't worry about a thing."

Hooking a hand around the back of Arthur's neck, Ford leaned in and kissed him deeply. When he pulled back a minute later, he grinned at the dazed look in Arthur's eyes. "I'll be back before you know it."

Arthur blinked a few times, but when he'd recovered his composure, he saw Ford heading out of the door, which emitted a nearly orgasmic sigh. "Ford!"

Ford stopped in the doorway, turning to Arthur with raised eyebrows. "Yes?"

"Just..." Arthur frowned. "Just... be careful, all right."

Ford grinned, putting on his tan-colored hat. "Sure thing."
