* Head Case - I'm glad that it's hard to tell Bob and the demon apart? With Head Case, I wanted to pull a Sixth Sense in that, at first, you think it might be Bob, and then it keeps going, and he starts acting strangely, and then bam! It wasn't Bob all along. I'm not 100% sure how well that worked, since I ended up changing strategy between the time I thought about it and when it came time to actually write it out. As it is, I'm glad that it's still enjoyable. I'm also glad about Murphy's part -- yeah, Harry saves her, but she's still a competent, capable woman, and that's what I like about her in both the books and the show.

And yeah, Harry watching his subconscious kiss Bob was just fun. Surprised Bob is surprised! And very cute. The whole fight scene in Harry's head was really fun to write as well. :D

* Poker Face - The way I see Bob's life, Winifred genuinely loved him, but after Winifred, Bob had dealt with masters of different moral attitudes, but one thing stayed constant: that Bob was a tool, not a person. Whenever a master seemed to get close to him, or discussed things with him, it was because Bob had something to offer them. My pet theory is that he had a personality before Harry (as evidenced by being able to drive masters crazy or to committing suicide), but there was something inhuman about him. I mean, if you look at the beginning of the series, Bob's concerns aren't because the boy's in trouble, or because he knows that Harry feels bad for killing his uncle. He just keeps himself occupied, and doesn't want to upset the apple cart he has going because Harry's a master who isn't just using him. Sure, Harry uses him, but in one of the deleted scenes for "Rules of Engagement", Bob describes how he reads books, and if Harry allows him to read Dean Koontz (which he mentions in the scene), then there's a lot more give-and-take between Bob and Harry than I'm sure Bob enjoyed with previous masters.

With Bob realizing just how long Harry's been sitting on these feelings, and finally getting an explanation for that ill-advised potion was a mystery finally being solved years after the fact. Sure, it's too late to do anything about it at that point in time, but at the same time, this resolution could only have happened later, either because things would flow better (Bob is in love with Harry by "Poker Face", when he wasn't in "Desperate Measures"), or because there was something preventing the information from coming to light until that point in time. *nodnod*

* Missing Persons - I really think that Bob and Murphy working together could've been something very interesting and very funny to see, considering how Bob is a manifestation of the supernatural that Murphy wouldn't have been able to explain away, and Murphy is the representation of the mortal authorities that the wizarding world tends to disregard as being unimportant. In the books, Murphy first encounters Bob in one of the short stories, and AFAIK, she hasn't interacted with him since, and that could've been really fun to read.

Still, I do like the idea of Bob and Murphy teaming up to help Harry, because the way that Harry operates, he needs back-up, for serious. Granted, I kind of felt like I was running a D&D game while they were in Undertown, but I happen to like those, so it was no big deal. :D

In conclusion, Bob and Murphy working together is awesome!

* Finders Keepers - The D&D game of Missing Persons happened, but there had to be aftermath! I also liked the cold-open feel of this feel because they're working in the sewers with an extra man (Harry's player was there for that game!), so this was another fun fic.

I really do like Murphy being a strong, capable woman in all of this, both caring enough about Harry and liking Bob enough to help Harry, as well as trying to keep him together and such. I also loved the statute of limitations on murder bit (I found myself thinking of Law & Order when I was writing that, and then I remembered the statute of limitations), but what's funny is that, in the extremely unlikely case that it ever went to court, the Chicago courts can't prosecute, because the murder occurred in England. Or at least in Europe.

Sleepy-kitty!Bob! He is snuggly and made of love.
