I was curious to see how you'd handle the whole "touching Bob's Skull" thing. I've read various ideas that Bob is able to oh so faintly "feel" whenever his skull is touched.
This entire vignette was very well thought out. I've never even thought about the grooves becoming dirty and in need of a cleaning. I always just assumed that it just never got dirty. But then when you rationalize it, of COURSE Bob's skull would need attention every once in awhile. Now that Harry's cleaned Bob up the one time, I can just visualize Bob nagging Harry to clean his skull up every once in awhile. Bob seems to be the kind of guy who likes to keep himself looking presentable, even his skull, and he never really noticed just how dusty it was until it was all cleaned up... maybe he would try to convince Harry to use some bleaching toothpastes or whitening strips on his teeth.
I also imagine Bob indulging in the fact that his skull is in the possession of someone who cares.
Another little thing I liked was that Harry used paint brushes for Bob cleaning. I can just see him standing at Blicks looking at all the paint brushes and contemplating over which brushes would work well enough. I'm sure poor Murphy would be as confused as one can get, but this is /Harry/ after all.
The only thing that gave me pause was that Harry was cleaning Bob's teeth with a toothbrush he uses for scrubbing out test tubes. I would assume Harry's used some pretty.. ehem.. interesting ingredients. But then again I'm very anal retentive when it comes to my toothbrush so that could just be me squicking myself out.
All things said and done I really enjoyed this one.
