Yes, you can beg. I dunno if it'll getcha what you want, though. *^^*
See, the thing is, I has plans for the series. And I haven't gotten all the way through with writing them out. With being stupid enough to sign up for dresdenficathon as well as working on this series, I kind of have to see what I can do for both of them, which is a bit of a crunch. After the ficathon, I'll have more time to devote to the series, but right now, it's a bit hectic. *^^*
Other than that, it's a matter of instant gratification vs. knowing when the next segment is coming. Because sure, you could read 1-2 fics right now, and glut yourself with more of the series and see what else happens to Harry, but then, you have no idea when (or if) the next segment is going to show up. It's not a threat -- it's just that I have a terrible habit of not following a series through, and the people who are the most disappointed are the readers who were following diligently.
With the schedule idea that I stole from edana_ni_emer, I've had periods where I churn out a few, get them beta'd and ready to go, and then a looong stretch where I was completely stuck. So, on that note, the schedule's been forgiving, because it gives me more of a cushion (and a solid deadline) to work with. And making it a week between posts means that readers aren't waiting forever, but it still gives me time?
Granted, my readers are disappointed because they have to wait a week, but seeing that ones who I've talked with are disappointed about the wait is heartening, as weird as that sounds? Because it means that people are interested, and they want more nownownow? :D?
