Sorry for the lag time in responding--I'm in the middle of moving, so I'm not at my promptest, I'm afraid. I see you've changed "Heather," anyway. *g*
The forehead-kiss is something I've seen in fics where one of the pairing is trying to tease the other, though it's usually when they're already together. Here, it seemed more poignant. I always think of Mulder/Scully, because X-Files was my first fandom, per se, and the periodic forehead kisses were so...emotionally charged, there. Bizarre to even think of combining those two 'verses (...oh, my God, now I want to see a crossover fic with the agents investigating the cheery perfection of Bertie's little world...) but it kind of worked for me in this context.
while it might be romantic to passionately kiss the girl who's been protesting, it's not entirely kosher. No, that's what I meant. Not cricket. And Bertie's so incredibly scrupulous about that kind of thing, especially if you phrase it to him like that.
You read my George/Melchett? *surprised, pleased look* I am always insatiable in my search for new slash. Have to check on what else a writer has written on her site, and if it's a fandom I'm even remotely interested in, of course I'll read it. (That being said...Cogsworth/Lumiere?...Really? You are very strange. I'm not reading that with a ten-foot screen, but just the idea that somebody wrote it...XD) The one with the kiss in the bedroom was particularly...yow. And I think my favorite was the wonderful angsty/hot "But...I can't go. You've got me pinned against the wall," scene. Good stuff.
